WRITING
In this club you will focus on expressive writing in many different forms. You can decide to write in your mother tongue or in English. Through different topics ("desire", "rave", "unity", "silence"...), you will have the opportunity to explore different types of poetry and prose styles, as well as responding to literature, quotes, immersive experiences, and music. Strategies to develop your own style, personal aesthetic, to avoid "writer’s block" and the "fear of the white page" will be addressed. Talks on philosophy and literature will make you discover authors, get inspired by their work, debate on ideas, develop critical thinking.
PERFORMING TEXTS AND WORDS
You will also regularly read your texts, and occasionally create lecture performances or sound poetry pieces. You will investigate the use of dialogue, texts, words to influence and enhance performance, whether it is dance or physical theatre. You will explore the works of choreographers and visual artists using narrative texts, speech, prose, drama, poetry, or introducing abstract words or voice. We discuss the model of language and linguistics within dance and performance from a structuralist and post-structuralist concept, challenge the connection between language and body, text and movement.
PUBLIC LECTURE
Sometimes we organize public readings of our texts in galleries, bookshops, indoor or outdoor spaces...
PUBLICATION
If you give us permission, your texts will be published online.
