limits & boundaries

JULY 4-7
SUMMER CAMP
THIS CAMP IS FULL

about

During this camp, we will explore limits and boundaries both on an artistic and personal level.

LIMITS & BOUNDARIES IN ART: LET'S CROSS THEM - THE "LIBERATION"
Building on discussions as well as on selected readings
connected to the topic together with creative exercises, participants will be guided to explore various artistic forms and cross the boundaries between movement, texts, images and objects. With embracing multiple media at the same time, participants will be invited to challenge artistic conventions and traditional canons, propose new forms, aesthetics, alternative, experimental solutions in order to defy norms, undermine tropes, express criticism of structural and ideological concerns.

LIMITS & BOUNDARIES IN RELATIONSHIPS: LET'S SET THEM - THE "CONTROL"
Setting boundaries can be scary, especially if we didn't have them modeled for us growing up.⁣ In this camp, we will bring up this topic to dive into why setting boundaries (e.g. for your mental health, to improve the relationship, to avoid resentment...), why maintaining them can sometimes be hard, what are the potential barriers impacting our ability to set boundaries (e.g. low self-esteem, fears....), and how to set and maintain healthy boundaries to protect and take good care of us? We will explore a variety of questions, such as: What are the types of boundaries and how do they function? What are the basic sentences we can answer to protect our Emotional / Intellectual / Physical / Time-Energy boundaries? What are the signs of damaged boundaries? What are the traumas and blocks to establish healthy boundaries? How can we recognize boundary violation and protect ourselves from it? How to say “no” firmly and politely?
