why enroll in this program?

The Arts & Healing Masterclass aims to rethink practices inherited from academic education and to rethink the very idea of learning. Taking different paths means getting rid of previously acquired automatisms, questioning lies that society has taught us, harmful myths and false truths that we have absorbed without realising it. Questioning things we take for granted, like unquestioned certainties, is what we call "unlearning".
"Arts & Healing is the first and only masterclass in the world to focus on both learning and unlearning.

The "Arts & Healing" Masterclass is a full-time program located in Budapest, Hungary, exclusively made up of week-long in-class workshops.
Based on genre-crossing, exploratory creative processes, the pedagogical path is articulated around three main topics.
Free your body and mind, express and raise your powerful, subversive and poetic voice (Module 1: Body). Reflect on your mood and current state, on yourself as an individual (Module 2: Identity) and as a member of a community (Module 3: Society).
An international group of "Unlearning Facilitators" with unique cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary experience will provide you with the theoretical, practical and technical knowledge to:
  1. unlearn limiting beliefs and self-depreciating thoughts;
  2. learn how to create, produce, promote and launch at the end of the program your own project the fields of Arts & Healing (eg. create a piece, organize a festival, design a retreat, run a residency, open a space, build a community...).

It will be as nourishing and professional as a masterclass, as life changing and healing as a retreat.

You can take part in this program from 3 to 9 months.

ABOUT US

our philosophy

In the 'School of Disobedience' you will be encouraged to produce and share knowledge and tools to imagine the framework for a new world where the focus is shifted from competition, career, fame, glory and visibility to mutualisation, cooperation, collaboration, support and care. A new world where you don't have to obey the gaze and judgements of others, deal with the pressures of the profession and respond to the expectations of gatekeepers and standard-bearers. Putting the body, emotions and critical theory on the same level, this new world is constructed beyond dualisms, where you constantly look for ambiguity, nuance and different shades of grey, celebrate in-betweens, wiggle room, doubt and uncertainty, welcome diversity, applaud critical and divergent thinking, celebrate disagreement, dissent, resistance and non-conformity.
You will be given the opportunity to build a creative healing space together to connect, collaborate, learn and create with your peers.
A space where you can reflect on yourself as an individual and as a member of a community.
Where you can find ways to support yourself and others.
Where you can develop, progress and grow.
Gain confidence and strength through friendship, trust and togetherness.

what is school?

For a school of tomorrow, I want to create an environment that is above all joyful and positive, where students are accepted, respected, challenged and encouraged beyond constructive criticism. Where students are neither pigeonholed nor judged. Where students can express themselves openly and simply. Where they are taught autonomy and independence without being abandoned, where they are guided and supported in their projects and their dreams. Where students not only have the right to go against conventions and norms, but are encouraged to do so. Where other forms of knowledge than the theoretical are considered and taught. Perception, empathy, emotions, intuition.
Personal stories, life experiences.
In the school of tomorrow, teachers do not tell students what to think, what to believe, but open doors for them, offering a variety of possibilities, knowledge, tools, ways of doing and seeing. Teachers do not take advantage of the young age and extreme sensitivity of students to influence them, to impose their personal beliefs and struggles on them. Instead, they teach critical thinking, doubt and scepticism.
Open-mindedness, curiosity, empathy.
This school would then be humane, warm and generous.
This school will educate students, teach them to trust themselves, to believe in themselves, to be themselves.
This school will make students authentic, sincere and courageous.
That's how they will face the world.
FAQ
What will I receive at the end of the program?
Depending on which Module(s) you follow, you will receive one or more certificate(s) of completion upon finishing the program.

What are the career prospects of this Masterclass?
Your career prospects after graduation will be in the artistic or entrepreneurial field, as throughout the year you will be encouraged to define your dream, develop personal projects, create your own method, start your own practice and find ways to make a living from your creativity.

Is there any age limit?
No. By creating an age-diverse group, we want to tap into the strengths of participants of all ages and build a stronger, more resilient, and open-minded community that recognizes one another's knowledge and experiences.

Is there an application, registration or administration fee?
No.

What is the application deadline?
The application is open until the group is complete.

Can I pay the program fee in installments?
Unfortunately no.

What is the deadline for paying the program fee?
Your spot is reserved as soon as you transfer the tuition fee. Without the payment, we can not keep your spot booked for you.

What is the level of the technical and repertoire classes?
Our unlearning facilitators will ensure that you enjoy, discover, follow, deepen and develop at your own pace. Each participant will be in their own "time zone", this is definitely not a space where you have to follow someone else's rhythm, but where you will be encouraged to find your own "tempo".

What are the living costs in Budapest?
Budapest is still somewhat cheaper than other major Western European cities. If you choose to rent a room in a shared flat, it will cost around 250-400€/month. A small studio apartment costs around 400-600€/month.

Does the program provide accommodation?
No, we don't. However, Budapest is neither London, nor Berlin, here it is quite easy to find a place to stay. There are many websites and Facebook groups specialized in finding accommodation.

"NO BULLSHIT, JUST THE TRUTH"
"I am amazed, it's still nourishing me with creative sparks every day... I am thinking a lot about the philosophy and the art of Anna's way of hosting and facilitating - it is inspiring and radical. Pure empowerment."
Julie B. A. (France)

"Nothing that can be put into words, really! I am still very empowered and inspired. What we created was magical. What Anna is doing is magical, super important and I have a lot of respect because the frame and the space in which these classes take place are really sacred and it is nothing ordinary to be able to create this!! <3"
Veronika W. (Austria)

"The time we spent together was truly special, we were surrounded by the care, gentleness, creativity and fun! The most interesting part was the freedom, flexible approach and flowing creativity that was present at the camp! I had no expectations but it was truly something magical and soul touching"
Zira G. (Russia)

"Just thank you for the individual support and feedback, as well as planting critical seeds onto the society around our field of work (workshops, retreats...). During the days spent there I experienced what it means to have someone believing in my potential so pretty priceless. I felt I could both enjoy space for introspection as well as confronting my ideas with others'. Thank you again. I couldn't have wished for a more eye opening experience."
Rebecca R. (Italy)

"I would like to thank you again for this cours. It gave me so much hope about the fact that an other (dance) world is possible. It also gave me the will to create again and the determination to do those creative things my own way."
Emma R. (France)

"Je crois que je pourrais jamais te remercier assez pour avoir créé un tel espace, vraiment, c'est la meilleure chose qui me soit arrivée cette année!"
Lisa A. (France)

"This week was intense and passed so fast, I was focusing so much on the creation that I forgot all the rest, it is only now that I'm back in France that I realize how much inspiration, courage and, most of all, empowerment, I took back home. It was not easy for me to be confronted with my fears and doubts, especially about creative process and intuitions, which are things I am not used to speak out. I took this course because I was looking for a missing part that only existed in my intuition, I found it ! And now I'm in love with it and I want to make it grow ... I feel so grateful to you, Roli and the girls, you made me learn to focus and to engage in my ideas, helped me demonstrate that the crazy things in my head and body could actually be so strong and meaningful to the world."
Lynn W. (France)

"Thank you so much for everything. I walked away from everyone this weekend feeling empowered and on a journey of self discovery after I have share so much intimate moments with you girls."
Charlene G. (Malta)

"I am still full of warmth and inspiration and I cannot thank you enough for everything you did for us!!
I think I had not experienced so much non-judgmental togetherness, as I did in the "School of Disobedience", before, and it was just very empowering.
This summer as well as several times this past half a year, I had been struggling a lot. My education was finished, I had no idea where I was gonna go and what I was gonna do, and I started to doubt everything. Myself for the most part.
And I might have been much better already before coming to Budapest, but this week changed something within me. It made me realize once more what great things can appear, seemingly out of nothing, when there's care instead of competition, understanding instead of judgement and that I am capable of much more than I thought I was.
Since I came back, friends have told me I look different. More balanced somehow, happier. And I am. Because realizing that I wasn't "free" was the first step, which happened some time ago, but now I feel it clearer than ever and now I feel hope that liberation is possible and at this point probably inevitable. We're all very very lucky!
With love, care, and affection."

Marlene A. (Austria)

"It was great working with you, discovering what you do and be honest about difficult topics. Great exercices because very concrete, real, and there can be no bullshit, just the truth."
Claire D. (France)
