This online program is for artists who want to stop organizing their work around open calls as the primary horizon.
For artists who are tired of waiting to be selected. Tired of adapting their language to fit someone else’s frame. Tired of writing applications that consume more energy than the work itself. Tired of building a practice around deadlines, rejections, institutional taste, and temporary opportunities.
Open Call Detox is a 5-week online program designed to help you move from a practice that depends on external selection, invitation, and validation toward a practice that can be initiated, proposed, organized, and financially sustained by you.
The shift is simple:
from applying to initiating, from adapting to deciding, from waiting to building.
We do not begin from the market. We do not identify “needs” to fill. We do not turn your practice into a product. We begin from what you already do as an artist.
The objective of the program is to make your work operable: to clarify what your practice can become, how it can circulate, who it can meet, what forms it can take, and how it can generate continuity without betraying its values.
How the program works
The program unfolds through 5 weekly emails. Each week, you receive one chapter with:
a clear topic,
practical tools,
reflection questions,
concrete exercises,
and at least one task to apply directly to your own artistic practice.
You have one week to work with the material and send your answers before receiving the next chapter. This rhythm is designed to create continuity without overload. The program does not ask you to consume information passively. It asks you to work actively on your own practice, step by step.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the program, you will have:
mapped how open call dependency affects your practice;
clarified the formats your work can take;
identified what your work needs in order to exist;
developed a more realistic relationship to money, pricing, and value;
created a first financial model around your artistic practice;
learned how to think beyond application logic;
drafted one concrete proposal for your work;
identified possible contexts, partners, and audiences;
built the basis of a more autonomous and sustainable artistic structure.
This program is for you if
You are tired of waiting for institutions to choose you.
You want to understand how your work can exist beyond applications.
You want to stop adapting your practice to every external frame.
You want to speak about money without shame.
You want to price your work more clearly.
You want to create your own opportunities instead of only applying for existing ones.
You want to build continuity, not only projects.
You want to initiate.
Important information
This is an online email-based program. Each week, you receive one lesson by email. After each lesson, you have one week to complete the exercises and send your answers before receiving the next chapter.
If no material is submitted, the program enters stand-by mode. The maximum stand-by duration is one month. After that, the program is automatically cancelled.
The program is designed for artists who are ready to actively work on their own practice. It is not a passive course and not a general business training. It is a guided process for artists who want to build more autonomous, ethical, and sustainable conditions for their work.
