Where does your solo begin? Not with form. Not with technique. But with desire. A solo does not start on stage. It starts with an obsession, a tension, a question that won’t leave you. This first step is simple, but not easy. You are not looking for a “good idea.” You are looking for what pulls you.
    Take a moment. Slow down.
    ​Write down 10 topics you are genuinely interested in right now. Not what you think is important. Not what you think will be understood. Not what sounds intelligent. What stays in your body? What irritates you, excites you, confuses you, obsesses you? They can be: a word, a feeling, a memory, a contradiction, a question.
    Let them be raw. Unpolished. Even unclear.
    ​Now look at your 10.
    Without overthinking, choose 5.
    Ask yourself:
    • Which ones have energy?
    • Which ones feel alive now (not in the past, not in theory)?
    • Which ones create a slight discomfort or curiosity?​
    Do not choose a topic because it sounds important, political, intelligent, or serious. Choose the topics that feel like you.
    Let go of the rest.
    Not forever, just for now.

    These are not your final themes.
    They are your entry points.

    Why so minimal?
    Because we are not starting from intellect.
    We are starting from impulse.
    Clarity will come later.
    Language will come later.
    Structure will come later.
    Right now, we listen to what insists.
    So you don’t need to choose “the right topic.” There is no such thing. You only need to choose something that is alive enough to begin. We will shape it together.

    What does "alive" mean?
    As this is an online training, and you will spend considerable time working alone, we invite you to choose topics that are alive: not too heavy to carry.
    This does not mean avoiding complexity or depth. It simply means choosing a starting point that gives you enough space, breath, and energy to continue the process without becoming overwhelmed by it. Something that makes you want to enter the process again tomorrow.
